The United States is a big country with amazingly varied landscapes and climates. From the marine climates of the Northwest and Northeast, to the four seasons of the northern interior, to the tropical climates of the Southern Gulf States, there's something for every taste. And then there's Alaska and Hawaii.

The United States is also one of the more developed countries in the world. Many of the Best Places To Live here are extensively developed. The country as a whole has a very well developed infrastructure with roads, power, and high speed communications reaching even the smallest, most remote areas. Public transportation is somewhat lacking compared to much of the rest of the developed world. U.S. residents love their cars!

Currently, our favorite best places in the United States are in the Northwest states of Idaho and Washington, and the tropical Pacific Islands of Hawaii.
